The VR Labs: Virtual Reality for Practical Education

Education Platform · Virtual Reality · Generative AI

A bachelor thesis system for practical education in virtual reality, including Network Lab for Ethernet cabling practice and Neo Terra for AI-assisted sustainability education.

Proof: Bachelor Thesis · Student Research · Exhibition · User Study

Context

Remote education works well for theory, but practical training often lacks interaction, feedback, and realistic practice environments.

System

The VR Labs is a virtual reality education platform with two modules.

Network Lab simulates Ethernet cable installation in VR, guiding learners through cutting, stripping, arranging, connecting, and crimping network cables.

Neo Terra is a gamified VR module for sustainable development education, where learners classify waste and interact with an AI-assisted robot.

My Role

I worked across research, system design, VR development, interaction design, 3D asset workflow, AI integration, and evaluation.

Contribution

I designed and developed the core VR experiences, including lesson flow, interaction logic, feedback mechanisms, reusable modules, and AI-assisted robot interaction.

Outcome

The project became my bachelor thesis and was connected to a student research poster, public exhibition, and user evaluation.
